Carmen Drake
Carmen is a long-term member of CQ Contemporary Artists, and is a landscape painter who often turns to still life and interiors. In her art practice she uses a variety of mediums from oil, acrylic, watercolour, and mixed media; also printing, in its various forms. Batik is another medium she employs in her art practice.
The Australian Flying Art School was the beginning of her art tuition. Carmen has had many great tutors over the years, foremost artists, that she says have been such a great pleasure to have worked with. Long term tutors Bela Ivanyi and Mervyn Moriarty perhaps have had the most influence on her art.
Carmen has exhibited regularly in Queensland and won numerous awards over the years. Her work is represented in the CQUniversity Australia Art Collection.

Therese Foley
Therese began oil painting back in the 1980s, working mostly with landscapes. After a long break from art, she joined the Blackwater Art Society, taking advantage of as many workshops from visiting tutors as she could. She developed an interest in painting birdlife in acrylics but always finds herself going back to oil landscapes 😊
Now she is living in Rockhampton, and is enjoying being part of CQ Contemporary Artists - learning so much from this friendly and generous group of artists.

Janice Ford
Jan paints with oils, acrylics and watercolours but her favourite medium is oil.Jan was a member of the Art Society of Tasmania until moving to Queensland.Her paintings have been exhibited in the Bayton Award since 2012.Jan is also a member of the Emu Park Gallery.
Sandra Harald
Sandra is a local artist exhibiting her work in the Rockhampton region. Her artwork is displayed in Mi Art, art and framing store Rockhampton. Sandra works from her home studio which is located near Rockhampton, where she specialises mostly in gouache and acrylic mediums.Her artwork is mainly focused on Australian birds.Sandra also has a facebook page showing all her original paintings with paintings for sale and also sold work.

Kerry Jackson
Kerry's love affair with art was rekindled about eight years ago. After attending a series of mixed media art classes at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre she joined CQ Contemporary Artists group and has enjoyed many workshops and art projects with a wonderful and inspiring group of artists.
Joanne Kerr
Joanne attended the Queensland College of Art, and majored in printmaking. She has exhibited throughout Queensland with exhibitions at the Graydon Gallery, New Farm in 2012, and Rockhampton at Gallery 6 in 2013 and more recently Percolator Gallery, Paddington in 2015. While mainly working in linocuts and botanical themes, Joanne has recently been exploring landscapes through paint and collage.

Sharon Kirk
Sharon became interested in creative pursuits later in life. After participating in a number of flying arts workshops while living in the bush, she furthered her theoretical knowledge by studying a Fine Arts degree externally part time.
Her interest is that space where human and nature intersect.
Hanbing Lu
Hanbing Lu is a visual artist and educator living in Rockhampton. Hanbing creates with different mediums--oil painting, woodcut, watercolour, digital art, traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting. Her works are inspired by the natural beauty of Central Queensland. She is a passionate ‘Big Kid’ trying to bridging the cultures and people by combining Western with Eastern art.

Hanbing believes in Zen, a school of Buddhism which focus on personal daily life and enlightenment. To her, art practice is not only work, but also a kind of entertainment, relaxation and meditation.

Ainslie McMahon
Ainslie is an award winning artist/educator who has exhibited widely in regional Queensland and facilitated numerous community art workshops for people of all ages.
Her work is represented in regional gallery collections in Biloela, Bundaberg, Gladstone and Rockhampton, and numerous private collections.
She works from her home studio near Rockhampton, producing contemporary artwork in the genre of the landscape and culture of Central Queensland.

Gail Meyer
Gail creates artworks which are about making painterly images of her thoughts of a subject, and not actually representing the subject [be it a tree, person, flowers, landscape etc] in a realistic and photographic manner.
By presenting the subject matter in her own way, she enjoys much pleasure and excitement. Gail's aim is that the viewer also, can also feel this when looking at her paintings and drawings. Her work is represented in the CQUniversity Australia Art Collection.

Kim Rose
Kim is a retired Home Economics teacher who spent many years actively involved in teaching and enjoying various forms of fibre and textile art.
In recent years Kim has expanded into visual arts, particularly with acrylics and watercolours, and has joined the CQCA to develop her skills.
Kim enjoys creating mixed media work that often includes collage and textiles.
Sue Smith
Sue is a Rockhampton-based artist who creates narrative figurative and landscape paintings. She has been a Bayton Award finalist (2013, 2017) and has had two solo exhibitions in Rockhampton and Townsville. Her work is represented in the public collections of CQUniversity Australia and Perc Tucker Regional Gallery Townsville.
